We are delighted to announce that Neil Atkin will be standing on 1st May to represent the new Repton & Stenson Division at Derbyshire County Council.
A retired farmer and resident of Stenson, Neil has been served on South Derbyshire District Council since 2003 and joined the County Council in 2017. He is an experienced councillor and is passionate about supporting the community and residents he serves.
Having been a farmer Neil knows the important role that the farming community plays in our economy and food security. He is strongly opposed to their proposed inheritance tax changes that the Labour Government have introduced which could make many farms in Derbyshire unviable.
Locally Neil is committed to working with district councillors and parish councils to address key issues across the division including traffic issues in Repton and flooding concerns in Newton Solney and Bretby.
