South Derbyshire Conservatives are pleased to announce that David Bell has officially submitted his nomination papers to South Derbyshire District Council to stand as the Conservative candidate for the Seales By-Election, which will take place on Thursday 6th November 2025.
David is a committed local campaigner who is passionate about standing up for Seales and the wider South Derbyshire community. Throughout the campaign, he will be working closely with existing Conservative councillors to address key local issues that matter to residents.
One of David’s priorities is to support the ongoing Conservative campaign against inappropriate battery storage sites in the district. These large-scale developments have raised serious concerns among residents about their environmental impact, safety, and suitability for rural locations.
David is also firmly opposed to the planned incinerator in Swadlincote, which threatens to harm the local environment and undermine the character of the area. He shares the strong view of local communities that cleaner, more sustainable solutions must be prioritised.
Another major focus for David is addressing traffic problems on the A444, particularly the impact of heavy goods vehicles on villages and local roads. If elected, he will lobby Derbyshire County Council to secure practical measures to reduce congestion, improve road safety, and deliver real improvements for residents and businesses alike.
“I’m proud to stand as the Conservative candidate for Seales. This is a fantastic community, and I want to be a strong local voice for residents — tackling the issues that affect people’s everyday lives,” said David Bell.
The South Derbyshire Conservatives team will be working hard over the coming weeks to speak with as many residents as possible, listening to concerns and sharing David’s positive vision for Seales.
The Seales By-Election takes place on Thursday 6th November.
