Andy has lived in Hatton since 1977. He is married to Dianne, who was born in the village, and they have four children. He also has ten grandchildren who all live locally. For the last 32 years he has run his own taxi business, based in Hatton. In 2007, he was elected to represent Hatton Ward on South Derbyshire District Council and before that he was a Parish Councillor for Hatton.
Andy is active in making Hatton a safe and friendly place to live; he works closely with and supports the local police and PCSOs. He regularly attends the Safer Neighbourhood and other local area meetings.
In recent years, he has worked closely with the Environment Agency, local businesses and the District Council to deliver the flood defences now in place on the River Dove and Saltbrook.
Andy enjoys dealing with residents’ issues and believes in keeping the village community spirit alive. He supports community events in Hatton and was Chairman of the Hatton Carnival for 8 years. He regularly gets involved in local fundraising and has formed a charity organisation to save and bring back into full working use the Community Building on Station Road. Andy is also committed to working with landowners and developers to build the Hatton Industrial Relief Road.
