Matthew Gotheridge is the District Councillor for Melbourne, having been elected in a by-election held on 2 May 2024 against tough odds, in a contest many had written off as unwinnable.
As a Melbourne resident who also works for a local business, Matt lives and breathes supporting local residents, whatever the issue. Whether that means speaking up against inappropriate development in Melbourne and the surrounding villages, or pressing the County Council to get a grip on the unacceptable parking and traffic issues affecting the ward, Matt is on the case.
He has been a member of Melbourne Parish Council since 2022 and is actively involved in the local community. Through his work as both a parish and district councillor, Matt is focused on listening to residents, supporting local groups and putting people before politics.
Matthew is committed to standing up for the town, its villages and the wider ward, and working constructively on the issues that matter most to local people.
