Stuart Swann is standing to represent the people of Swadlincote South, including Church Gresley and Castle Gresley at the elections for Derbyshire County Council on 1st May. A long-time resident of Church Gresley and experienced councillor, Stuart has a track record of helping local residents with their issues and concerns. Whether that be standing up on planning matters, working to resolve issues with highways and road safety or flooding concerns, Stuart is there to help.
Like many local residents he believes passionately in keeping the area clean and tidy. He can be seen out litter picking in the community on a regular basis. Stuart has supported many different local organisations, community and sporting groups during his time as a councillor with over £60,000 in grant funding. He actively opposed the proposal for an incinerator in Swadlincote and has been an outspoken advocate for improved road safety helping local Parish Councils to secure funding speed indicator devices. He is opposed to inappropriate housing development in the area such as the proposals for 75 houses to be built on land off Linton Road in Castle Gresley.
