On Saturday 21st August, Cabinet Support Member for Strategic Leadership, Culture and Tourism, Cllr Susan Hobson joined local County Councillor Gary Musson at the handover of Woodville Library. The first library in Derbyshire to be under community management.

Woodville Library is the first county community library to open since launching Libraries for Derbyshire in 2019. The plan is to transfer 20 out of 45 libraries to community management.

Circularity who have taken over the facility have an exciting vision to expand what is on offer from the building and ensure it becomes a real hub of activity for the local community.

Group members will be opening the doors to the library in Hartshorne Road at 10am on Saturday and will then be in charge of the day-to-day running of the library, opening hours, staffing, activities and events.
