David is a successful businessman, founding his own shipping company based at East Midlands Airport. From a young age David has been an active Conservative member, this was where he met his wife Anne and they went on to have 3 daughters together.
Since 2015 David has been a District Councillor in South Derbyshire and previously was the Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council. He has a particular interest in special education and is a Trustee of the Royal School for the Deaf Derby.
