Stuart has a strong track record of serving the South Derbyshire community, he has been a Derbyshire County Councillor since 2017. He is committed to being a strong voice for the people of Linton and has delivered for the community. During the pandemic, he supported the Bus Park Cafe to continue its Meals on Wheels service, secured funding for a Citizens Advice helpline. Stuart has also gained funding for many community projects in the Linton area. He has supported all local parish councils in the deployment of speed indicator devices to improve road safety locally, including securing grants to help Linton and Castle Gresley. A grant from Stuart paid for badges for every household in Rosliston to commemorate the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and he helped fund the celebrations organised by Castle Gresley Parish Council as well as others in the area. He also delivered two grants to assist Rosliston Pre-School as well as funding for major improvements at Linton Village Hall, local football and cricket clubs, and the establishment of allotments in Rosliston. The ongoing extensive improvements to the notorious Drakelow crossroads are the result of Stuart’s persistent lobbying of Highways officials.
Melanie moved to the area over 20 years ago and has served as a District Councillor for Linton since 2019. She is a solicitor and hopes to use her legal background to help residents with council issues. Melanie has extensive experience campaigning on local issues and working to deliver for Linton Residents.
